Cavalier Zoysiagrass is a fine blade variety developed
by Texas A&M that can tolerate very low mowing and has many of the
characteristics that Golf Courses are looking for. An older variety
(Emerald) Zoysiagrass is very slow to propagate or recover from
damage.
Zoysiagrasses are normally vegetatively planted (sod or
plugs). Advantages of Zoysiagrasses are good winter hardiness, shade
tolerance, extremely good wear resistance, and a dark green color.
Zoysiagrasses generally can tolerate heavy fertilizer raters resulting
in a dark green color.
