Tifway 419 Bermuda is one
of the best all purpose hybrids. It is a fine leaf textured turfgrass
that is used on golf course fairways, football, baseball, soccer
fields, and home and commercial lawns. 419 Bermuda forms a dense
durable surface under relatively low mowing heights and will tolerate
drought well. 419 Bermuda withstands wear and traffic, establishes
quickly, and recovers rapidly from injury. Bermuda grass lawns perform
best when maintained at 3/4 to 1 inch using a reel mower; however good
performance may be achieved with a rotary mower with sharp blades set
as low as possible without scalping. There are not any seeds for 419
Bermuda therefore propagation must be done by sodding or sprigging.
